Meat orgy. That’s the only way to describe the overabundance of meat on hand at Itaewon’s Brazilian steakhouse Copacabana. The meat literally keeps coming, plate after plate, slice after slice, cut after cut. Top sirloin, bacon wrapped beef, garlic sauces beef, bottom sirloin, chicken, pork, and do you get the picture?
By far the best cut of the night for me was the top sirloin. It was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. I have to say the bottom sirloin was a close number two. It was thick, and the char on the meat made it flavorful and primal. It’s like you’re digging into a heft of meat straight off some primordial fire. The garlic beef came in third followed by the bacon wrapped beef. I have to say that both of those dishes Mercado did better. Points to Mercado too for having their own winning sauce. Copacabana, a specialty sauce would really showcase the meat.
As for the side items I really didn’t pay much attention to them. There’s an obligatory salad bar full of the usual suspects: corn, greens, macaroni, and what not. I would suggest, if you do need a little veg, is to make a salad and then slice up a piece of top sirloin on top. Delicious!
To wash it all down there are ample choices of water, soda, beer and wine. I, however, suggest the caipirinha. It’s a step above a Mojito, in my book, and just as delicious. Made with cachas it’s a cocktail native to Brzail and the sugarcane and mint will have you grinning from ear to ear.

To the best of my knowledge they are not affiliated but I could be wrong!
