Desperately searching for a bite to eat after the near disastrous Hoegarden bar and restaurant, Rebecca and I scoured the streets (actually we jut walked a few feet) and found Cote Dor. Let me preface this by saying that Cote Dor’s lovely name matches the exterior of the building.
The soft lighting and decorated wooden steps up to the door gives one the expectation of a fine meal in a warm cozy home. Inside the feeling continued with the kitschy mixed and maxed tables and chairs and even a tea kettle on the heating lamp as if some poor addled grandmother forgot to collect it. Those warm feelings fled when we eyed the prices and small portions. That must be one high rollin’ anorexic grandma.
I do admit it did all taste very good. Won’t be going back though. I need something hearty and filling and it just didn’t happen at Cote Dor. I felt like we were paying for their rent which is not a nice feeling to have when you sit down to eat.
Still, if you want the atmosphere then Cote Dor’s cup runneth over.
KMK: Cote Dor

It was a definite odd place. I don’t think I’ll go back. It was creepy!
My bf took me to a restaurant like this in Gangnam..heck it could of been the same place. It was barely lit and cramped. Someone was smoking too.>>I guess it was going for an old-wordly feel.>>I dunno did you enjoy eating in the dark.. given it was romantic but also made the pasta look a little odd.
