Innisfree It’s Real Squeze Mask
One of the first things you notice when living in Korea is the overwhelming abundance of health and beauty product marketing. You see it on TV, on billboards, on buses, on advertising signs in the subway tunnels, on posters and flyers, and in movie theaters during the previews. It’s everywhere. You can’t escape it. Not even if you’re a guy. Imagine my surprise to find ads targeted equally to males and females. In Korea it’s all about the look and every man woman and probably child wants that healthy glow that only youth or a really good skin cream can give.
Now, it’s not like I hadn’t been inclined to indulge in a little H&B skin care love. A black guy has gotta keep his skin cocoa buttery or risk an ashy day out and about. And yet, besides my Palmer’s cocoa butter, the only other beauty products I’ve used have been my Nivea aftershave balm for razor bumps. You can imagine my dumbfounded state when faced with the sheer number of so many different products. I just didn’t know where to start and so I never did.
Thankfully, a friend set me on the right path with an elegantly simple first step: face masks. Fun, easy, and great for the skin I immediately jumped at the idea of trying it out. Finding the mask for me seemed daunting at first. There are literally hundreds of various masks on the market here in Korea. In an act of decisiveness tinged with desperation I decided on one boasted colorful eye pleasing packaging, possessed all natural ingredients, and held names that gave the impression my face would be beckoning passerby to touch it’s silky smooth perfection: Innisfree It’s Real Squeze Mask.
I went with the Kiwi and Pomegranate, but the other Green Tea, Cucumber, Bamboo, Ale, Manuka Honey, Shea Butter, Acai Berry, Strawberry, Blackberry, Bija, Tea Tree, Rose, Rice, and Lime. Each variation proposing to target a particular problem area of your skin. The Kiwi, for example:
….cares for the skin by making it clear and moisturized. Using refreshing hydration by the squeezed kiwi along with green tea, tangerine, prickly pear, camellia leaves, and orchids. Excellet adherence and long lasting hydration with each 3 layer sheet for a certified hydrating effect.
So, decision made, I ventured on toward a three day Kiwi Facial fest with the results below.
Overall, I noticed a difference and my skin looks a bit clearer. It certainly feels less dry and seems brighter.

I’ve been using these for a few months now and they are the best! I’m glad more people will be picking them up. You should do more health and beauty features. South Korea has a ton of them. I could use some direction!
I started using them too and they are a godsend. Everyone should use them. They really work.
They work miracles. Truly.
