“I think fashion is political comment,
the statement you make when you dress. ”

British born photographer Nick Knight continues to dazzle the world with his keen eye for fusing surrealism with fashion. Since the early eighties his work has garnered the attention of the world. Collaborations with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein,  Yves Saint Laurent,  and countless others catapulted his work onto the cover and pages of Vogue as well as billboards in cities around the world. He’s produced album covers for artists ranging from Björk to Paul Weller and directed music videos for the likes of Lady Gaga, and Kanye West. He’s a true renaissance man whose work can now be seen in the heart of Seoul at the Daelim Museum from now until Sunday, March 26th 2017.

“The whole notion of photography is that it takes you
places you couldn’t access otherwise.”

If you’ve never heard of Nick Knight then now is your chance to discover a talent whose in full control of his artistic sensibilities. In the year 2000 he began the Show Studio. Here, along with other like minded creative talents, he ventured out into the far flung reaches of the fashion world. Combining film, live acting, modelling, design, and photography into a chemical potion distilled into experimental yet quintessential fashion. From all the way back to Bjork’s “Pagan Poetry” video, to a living breathing fashion editorial televised via webcam, interactive pornographic illustrations, downloadable Alexander McQueen Fashion garments, street style guerrilla takeovers of London Department stores, and on and on with over sixteen years of pushing fashion in innovative directions.

“I’m just trying to see the world from different angles.”

“I’m enormously interested in subverting stereotypical images
of ‘beauty’ in the media.”
