As an alternative film festival that appeals to cult movie fans, PiFan screens low-budget films, horror movies, SF, thrillers, and other non-mainstream genres. This year, entries received by June 10, 2006 will be divided into one of seven categories. Entries in the Puchon Choice Feature and Short categories will compete for one of nine awards.The Feature competition offers six awards: Best of Puchon, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Citizen’s Choice, and Jury’s Choice. The short competition offers three awards: Grand Prize for a short film, Jury’s Choice for a short film, and Citizen’s Choice for a short film.The other categories are World Fantastic Cinema with screenings of major international fantastic films; Made in Korea category with screenings of Korean fantastic movies; Fantastic Short Films with screenings of international short films; Family Section for those visiting with children; Korean Cinema Retrospective that explores the creations of major Korean directors; and Special Programs with screenings of internationally acclaimed directors.
During the festival, free shuttle buses connecting the main theaters are available in front of Songnae subway station. / There is a PiFan information booth in front of the subway station.
