KMK: COEX Aquarium

Arts Museums

The Coex Aquarium is located in the Coex Mall in the Gangam area of Seoul. The aquarium is a huge complex with several regional displays including The Seven Seas, Marine Touch, Ocean Kingdom, and The Deep Blue Sea.

The aquarium and Coex Mall can be reached on Subway line 2 at Samsung Station. The admission was 14,500Won for an Adult Ticket, 13,000 for Teens, and 10,000 for Children.

People jam packed the aquarium. Parents with children and babies in strollers had every exhibit on lock down. Just snapping photos proved to be a great measure of patience and speed clicking.

Most of the shots didn’t turn out, but I managed a few good ones. The different settings on my camera allow for shooting things behind glass or shooting things moving, but not apparently moving things behind glass.

I swear I had these eels for dinner a few weeks ago. This fish totally had the plastic toy camouflage down pat. This one may not look it, but he was a huge albino fishy. All the different colors streaking through the water was quite beautiful.

The turtles were out in force as well. The otters were lively and tons of fun, but their quickness made getting a shot nearly impossible.

He’s lucky he’s caged, because some woman was eyeing him up as if he’d make the perfect pair of shoes and matching hand bag.

The shark tank cometh, unfortunately this is when my battery began fading fast. It’s a shame, because there was so much more to see! The aquarium is definitely a place to stop and check out. Don’t miss it!
