KIAF 2012

KMK: KIAF 2012

Events Lifestyle

This is a forgotten post that I recently found. I really enjoyed the exhibit last year and it’s almost time for it to happen again so I figured I may as well post this as a sort of preview to this year’s festival.

This year I managed to make it back to the Korean International Art Fair, but just barely. I caught the show on the Sunday before it all ended. KIAF has been an annual event since 2002, bringing the work of artists from across the Globe to Seoul. This year they had over 181 galleries from over 200 different countries. The participatns in question ranged from burgeoning young talents to established world renowned artists.

This year KIAF designated Latin America as the guest “country” of honor. the works involved spanned from paintings and sketches to sculpture and mixed media and installation pieces. Just like my previous visit KIAF didn’t disappoint. The overwhelming number of pieces proved to be insurmountable for one single afternoon.

The following photos are some of the highlights I enjoyed from the fair.
