KMK: El Grecos

Food Restaurants

For the last few months another Greek restaurant has popped up in Itaewon. This time around it’s El Grecos in Gyeongridan. First, I enjoyed my experience here much more than Santorini in Itaewon. Second, my friends accompanying me thought the results mixed. My falafel plate satisfied me. The portions were adequate and the price reasonable. It came with fresh veggies and of course a helping of tzatziki sauce which I used liberally.

Things slipped with the gyro. It wasn’t quite what I was hoping for. I’m all about lamb with my gyro and this one clearly was pork. Overlooking that it was a healthy size wrapped in a delicious Baker’s Table pita and stuffed with veggies covered in tzatziki. Both the Falafel and gyro can be ordered as sets which include chips and a drink. There’s also a Fish ‘n Chips I haven’t tried but looked pretty good judging from another guest eating next to us.

So if you’re after a falafel it’s not a bad place to go, but Noxa does serve up a better one. And for a gyro maybe I’d stick with the guys manning the food trucks on the street during Friday and Saturday nights in Itaewon.
