KMK: Mosquito Madness

Over the past week I’ve been in a life and death struggle. It’s been happening in my own apartment. It’s an all out throw down. In one corner there’s me, ticked off, sleepy and wielding a rolled up newspaper. In the other corner is a trio of mosquitoes that never seem to dwindle in number no matter how many times I kill them.

My evenings start off normal enough. I come home, do some blogging, get a bite to eat, maybe watch something I downloaded or play a little Warcraft, do some writing and then climb into bed for some much needed snooze time. However, my sweet dreams are soon disturbed by the sharp pinprick bite of my enemies. I bolt out of bed. Flick on all the lights and hunt for the suckers on the walls, curtains, and even the freaking ceiling. Once found a quick swipe sends the little beasties into the insect afterlife with only a telltale bloody splat left as a warning to their brethren to seek a more accommodating snack. Not that it works because an hour later I’m back up repeating the entire process.

I examined all the windows, hidden cracks and crevices of my place but couldn’t discover how they were infiltrating my apartment. Every morning I woke up with so many inflamed bites that it looked like I had a case of the mumps at best or, at worst, like I’d spent a night with Ike Turner. Not a good look. After bemoaning my plight to my friend Rebecca she suggested that I pick up a handy little gadget from a local convenience store.

All you do is screw in the little bottle of liquid to the base of the contraption and plug the whole thing into a wall socket. Whatever vaporous fumes that thing spews has done the trick. The blood sucking critters have all but disappeared. The few that I do find flying about punch drunk are almost too easy to take out. They practically fly into the rolled up paper.

So if you’re having bug trouble then go out and get yourself some of this stuff. You’ll be glad you did.
