Plastic Surgery in Korea – Inspired by Korean Stars

The popularity of cosmetic surgery is growing in Korea. Statistics show that almost half of the population of women in their twenties have had some type of cosmetic surgery. The growing trend of using plastic surgery to alter physical appearance comes from several sources. Media advertisements, Korean movie stars, easy availability and the affordable cost of eye lift and face lift procedures are causing a boom in the industry.

The Face Lift Procedure Is Inspired By Korean Stars

The media has a great deal to do with the growing interest in plastic surgery. Everywhere you look, magazines are plastered with advertisements showing beautiful Korean women who have had plastic surgery. The entertainment industry in Korea is now recommending plastic surgery to young people being trained in talent factories and drama schools. Cosmetic surgery is now becoming essential for anyone who wants a successful career in acting. Boosting star potential is the reason that almost 90% of young Korean singers and entertainers have eyes, nose and facial contours done.

Young Stars Are Shown With Before And After Photos

Young Korean entertainers like Jeon Ji Hyun, Lee Boo Yhon, Kim yoo John, Park Han Bea and Lee Kim Shoo can all be found with photos comparing their faces before plastic surgery and after. Showing comparison photos of stars with improved looks inspires many young women in Korea to do the same. Getting a face lift or eye lift is not something that is saved for old age. In Korea, the younger the better. Especially in the entertainment industry.

Not only do stars receive added publicity by showing comparison photos, all stars are scrutinized by fans trying to guess if their looks are natural or not. This also gives stars added publicity. Korean stars that deny getting plastic surgery when they look nothing like a before photo can cause a great deal of public curiosity and debate.

How Popular Is Plastic Surgery In Korea?

The availability of highly-skilled plastic surgeons in Korea and the affordable cost of eye lift surgery and other procedures make it easier for the general public to have access to the services. Plastic surgery is no longer for the rich and famous. Korean plastic surgeons also have excellent reputations for meticulous work and high standards. People come to Korea from other parts of the world to seek out their highly-skilled plastic surgeons.

The affordable prices and good reputation of the plastic surgery industry in Korea make it one of the top destinations for body-enhancing surgery.

Cosmetic Technology Is Advanced In Korea

In Korea, the plastic surgery industry is becoming more and more advanced. More procedures are being successfully completed with less healing time and with more natural looking results. Results can be achieved so quickly and are so commonplace that surgeons now do a mini- surgery facelift called feather-lift during work lunch breaks. The feather-lift tightens saggy skin with tiny threads. Liposuction is another option in Korea that is done so often that it too is offered as a lunchtime procedure.

Popular Plastic Surgery Procedures In Korea

One of the most widely done procedures is that of the eye lift or double eyelid operation. This surgery changes the eye shape into one that is less hooded. Nose jobs are also common for making the bridge of the nose appear higher. Korean women are also getting Botox injections into the jawline to shrink underlying muscles and make the face appear smaller.

More Korean women than ever before are requesting butt implants to give them a more curvaceous shape. The Korean obsession with smooth, flawless skin makes facial laser resurfacing, chemical peels, Botox and liposuction in high demand.

As young Korean stars continue this growing trend of physical alterations through plastic surgery, more and more young girls will seek to emulate them. Getting liposuction or Botox at a young age is becoming the norm and will continue to grow as Korean stars set the trend in what is considered popular for Korean youth.

  1. I’m actually looking to have jaw-reduction (maxofacial) surgery in Korea before I leave. Anyone know where I can get information on that as to what doctors I should look for and how much I’d be paying?
