Now don’t get me wrong. Seoul is a thriving big city metropolis that has tons to offer, but sometimes I get a craving for something back home that just can’t be found in the Emarts, Lotte Marts, and Family marts around the city. You know what I mean. Maybe for you it’s those cool ranch Doritos but for me it happens to be a pack of those delicious fudge stripe cookies from the Keebler Elves. Usually I’d have to wait for a trip back home or a care package from my family to satisfy my craving.
Not any longer.
Thanks to the new High Street Market in Itaewon the foreign foods I love are no longer so far out of reach.
It’s a Deli!
The folks behind High Street Market have taken pains to ensure those special meats dancing in your dreams are now reality. I’m talking about pastrami, roast beef, cured beef, smoked turkey, and honey cured ham, all between 2600 and 4300 KRW per 100 grams. Did I mention they have cuts of pork chops along with ground chicken and turkey breasts for a homemade healthier burger choice? They do.
High Street Market didn’t leave out the folks who love their dose of daily bread. Wheat, rye, white or French they’ve got you covered. Maybe you’re in the mood for a buttery croissant or a warm baguette? You might not be able to stand the wait and need a quick fix. In that case order a Perhaps that sweet tooth nagging you needs to be shut up? Everything Inbetween
Things don’t end with the bread and deli meats. The party conintues with a wide variety of cheeses including cheddar, Brie, emmental, mozzarella, Gouda and much much more. And what’s a nice spread of cheese without a wine to pair it with? I just love a good deli…Especially those with good coffee!
Whoa, things just got a whole lot eesair.
The place really is awesome! I’m swinging by there today!
I love this place too ! So many things I miss and thought I would have to go home to find. Prices seem to be much cheaper overall than foreign market or haddon house… and much better service !! Prices are clearly marked and no feeling that I’m being ripped off or there is some tax avoiding scheme going on (you know who I mean).
I agree! It’s one of my favorite places to go especially when you need that hard to find stuff like taco seasoning!
