Banh Mi Lee in the HBC (Haebanchon) neighborhood in Itaewon boasts some of the most tastiest Vietnamese sandwiches I’ve ever had. Don’t know what a Banh mi is? Well, it’s the baby of French colonialism in Vietnam. Combining the deliciousness of French baked baguettes with the freshness of Vietnamese vegetables and spices. If you’ve never had one I suggest heading out and picking one up immediately.
Banh Mi Lee has a range of sandwiches that include meatball (only on weekends), chicken, tofu (new), and their most popular sandwich: pork. The goodness doesn’t stop at their sandwiches. They also cook up a tasty snack, deep fried bananas, that goes along perfectly. If that’s not to your liking then there’s the fried spring rolls. Wash it all down with their freshly brewed Vietnamese coffee or latte. They make their sandwiches fresh each day until the ingredients are gone so make sure you pop in early to snag one.
Their spot may be small, capable of seating four to five, but it’s pack full of homemade flavor and good vibes.
