Although I’ve known of Trevia for some time, walking by while out to get coffee or glimpsing from behind the glass of a buss zipping by, I never took the time to actually stop and go in until a few days ago. I’m glad I did.
Usually I’m a traditional guy when it comes to my pizza. I like it one way and one way only: Thin crust, pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, and onion. Sometimes olives and green onions make the short list, sometimes not. Trevia’s pizza alla pala changed all that.
The word pala means pizza peel which is the flat wooden board with the long handle that is used to slide pizzas into and out of the pizza oven. So pizza alla pala means the shape of the pizza is long and rectangular with rounded edges to resemble the board.
It’s absolutely delicious. They use fresh cheese, vegetables and authentic pepperoni. You can order by the slice at w5,500 to w6,300 or a whole pizza between w6,500 and w18,900. The pizzas with mozzarella include margherita, quattro formaggio, mushroom, potato & sweet potato, pepperoni, bulgoghi, sweet pumpkin or shrimp.
If sans cheese is how you like your pizza Trevia has you covered. The choices are fewer but you can still choose between siciliana, mushroom, prosciutto cotto, and motardella ( a large Italian sausage). A green and caprese salad priced at w7,000 and w13,500 respectiviely are also featured on the menu.
Besides the pizza the other reason to stop by Trevia is there bread. They have a set menu where you can choose between bread and cheese, bread and salami, or bread with both cheese and salami. Focaccia, pala dough or ciabatta bread is on hand. The cost is w7,000, w8,000, and w15,000. Or you could go for one of their panini sandwiches made with either proscuitto cotto, motardella, or shrimp.
There’s also the usual combination of coffees, teas, house wins and beer. As an added plus you can also buy imported sausage, olive oil and a variety of hard to find cheeses.
Inside the decor is modern with stark concrete walls combined with rustic wooden furniture scattered about the dining area. The kitchen is open allowing for a full view of the chefs at work whipping up your pizza.

I checked this place out a few days ago, too! I walked past it every day, but I never bothered to try . . . and now they are one of my new favourite restaurants! 😀
The pizza is awesome. I enjoyed the lasagna too but the portion could be a bit bigger.
