Tartine

KMK: Tartine

Cafes Food

Tartine has been in Itaewon for quite awhile now. Alas I have only just begun to taste their offerings begging a few weeks ago. I’m kicking myself now for not walking in sooner. This place quite simply puts the delish in deliciousness.

You see, Tartine specializes in their namesake which, when translated from French, means something with bread on it. Have a croissant? Put some butter on it and you now have a tartine. Got a bagel? Slather some jelly on it and voila it’s a tartine! But the folks at Tartine get a little fancier than my weak attempts.

The co-owners, Chef Garret and Luke Lee, and Young-Ho have crafted a dessert menu worthy of royalty. The menu includes pies such as apple, rhubarb, strawberry, cherry, blueberry, pecan, butter tarts, and mixed fruit. On the weekends things get turned up a notch with Merignues! We’re talking about Lemon, key lime, banana cream, chocolate cream, and coconut cream. Not to mention the assortment of cookies and squares to be had. To top all that on Mondays they offer a very special meat pie dinner that will have you ignoring any other pot pie you’ve come across.

  1. We’ve been going there for quite a while now, and always make a stop before we leave Itaewon. Their cookies are really good as well, and their Hemingway’s Favorite Lime Pie (I think that’s what it’s called) totally rocks.
