Kick Ass

KMK: A Psychic Critic Review | Kick Ass

Arts Film

Movie: Kick Ass

Director: Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake)

Starring: Aaron Johnson(….), Nicolas Cage( white Elvis!),

Poster: The colorful neon latex costumes are giving me visions of Joel Schumacher’s horrible Batman and Robin. Artificial nipples anyone? The splashes of neon paint blood like on the background give me a vision of something promising.

Trailer: Irreverent, witty and full of spunk. It’s got enough bite that I’m not seeing a repeat of the Batman fiasco. Instead, feisty ten year old girls and dorks with good intentions take the fast lane in a surefire crowd pleaser. Nic Cage’s appearance has me channeling the demonic snooze fest Ghost Rider, but from the esoteric planes of the silver screen movie moguls long since past whisper in my ear that we’re not in store for a hammy over the top performance.

With Kick Ass I’m seeing a blueprint of do it yourself comic book kick assery not seen since Spiderman.

Verdict: See it!
