Dechocolate

KMK: DeChocolate

Cafes Food

The next assault in the coffee wars has been launched! This time it’s DeChocolate firing off a nuclear worthy attack at the likes of Tom N Toms, Starbucks, and Coffee Bean. Last year around this time I’d never even seen a single one. Now you can’t miss them. You’ve probably seen a DeChocolate yourself. They’re literally popping up everywhere in Seoul like the first battalion sent into the fray. Gangnam, Sinsa, Itaewon, you name the area and it’s probably got one just waiting to lure you inside with the unbeatable combo of coffee and chocolate.

The edible drinkable goodness isn’t the only reason to pop in either. Once inside you’ll be lulled into a lazy lethargic sense of contentment like big fat cat sipping at a bowl of cream. The warm browns and reddish wood combined with the slate grays and red brick gives it the feel of a modern day cottage. And did I mention the free Wi-FI? A must for any serious contender in the coffee wars and DeChocolate has it.

The coffee holds its own, but, as I said above, the chocolate really sets them apart. My favorite is the Earl Grey Bar which is divine. Pair that up with a mug of java and you’ll bliss out for an hour at least.

So before you head into your favorite coffee spot do yourself a favor and take a chance on the competition. You might just be surprised.

The Good: edible drinkable goodness
