Cibocima. The day of lovers fast approaches bringing with it the dreaded deed of finding a place to dine. You can’t be too casual about choosing the place. You don’t want to take your significant other to dinner at Burger King. Nor do you want to find yourself starving for the rest of the month because you paid for a 300,000won meal no matter how delicious. So the question on everyone’s mind: just where do I take my lover for Valentine’s Day?
Far be it for me to tell you what to do but I do have a suggesion: CiboCima.
Never heard of Cibocima? Well, I didn’t either until a week or so ago when I took my brother Johnathan up to Seoul Tower and discovered the Italian cafe just above the cable car station.
Italian may seem to be lacking in imagination, but where the cuisine may not spark that glimmer in the eye of your lover the location surely will. You see you may not have heard of Cibocima because it’s nestled in a nook of Namsan just above the cable car station. I found it wile showing Seoul Tower to my brother Johnathan and we decided to stop for lunch.
The first thing you notice upon entering is the breathtaking view. On a clear day you can view the city sprawling below unblemeished and gleaming. I can only imagine what it must look like at night. The decor is simple, tasteful and not overdone. The space, intimate. I beleive your special someone will appreciate more than the view for being taken to such a spot.
In regards to the food I had the lunch set of salad, pizza, and tea. Let me say that my salad tantalized my tastebuds and teased me for things to come. It was tangy, with crispy lettuce, crunchy vegetables and mushrooms so succulent that I could’ve sworn I was eating meat. After that the pizza, a margerite, couldn’t qute live up to the high standard but it was good nonetheleless.
The lunch set put me back 18,000W. I gather that a meal for dinner for two would be pushing 50,000 to 60,000won. All in all not bad all, right? Make plans and tell me all about it. In fact you may see me there so a kindly hello would make my night.
