I’m not sure if you know or not but this is an election year in South Korea. On December 19th a new President will reign supreme. The would be Presidents have been campaigning and clamoring throughout the country (Seoul) badgering the populace with reasons why they should be the head honcho in charge. Now, since I don’t speak more than a handful or Korean and because I can’t vote in this election, I really haven’t been been paying attention. Would you?
I needed a reason to ignite my interest and bring me into this campaign. I found it tonight while I was in Hongdae. And here it is!
A poster of the candidates for President each with, I assume, a pithy reason why they and not the other guy should be running things in South Korea. Of course, with my previously mentioned minimal Korean skills this could be a poster of the candidates or an advert for the Korean Gay Men’s choir. That guy on the left sure looks like a soprano to me.
I don’t know their names, and really can’t even be bothered to Google them and run them through the babel fish translator, so instead I’ll name them myself after the Seven Dwarfs; because that’s much more fun and anyway don’t they resemble the Seven dwarfs and their five cousins?
So, in order from left to right we have Dopey, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Happy, Bashful, and Doc along with their new brother dwarfs Sleazy, Suicidy, Lucky, Hunky, and Bud.
And we can’t have dwaves without a Snow White so who better than to lead our merry group of mischief makers than K-pop princess Boa.
She looks like she’s ready to lead them to victory or maybe show them their seats on the plane.
