KMK: War Memorial Part 2

The outside of the War Memorial has just as much to offer as the inside. The outdoor exhibition area contains monuments and statues, decommissioned vehicles and aircraft, and a host of other sights primed and ready for your picture taking pleasure.

Here are a couple shots of the Clock Tower of Peace. Here is the Statue of Brothers. Two comrades in arms supporting each other through a trying ordeal. Below is what the inside of the dome looks like. It has a mural painted on the walls and a marker depicting the world map. A few decommissioned tanks and armory vehicles lined the area.

The main sight is the Korean War Monument above. It stands as the beacon to those passing by as well as coming to the memorial. These are the statues like encircle the monument. They truly are quite impressive up close and you can tell the scale of size by the shot of my head engulfed by the hand.

The monument of King Kwanggaeto. Alongside the tanks and trucks were the aircraft used in some of Korea’s conflicts. I was able to see them all up close and even climb inside a few.

The Flying Bird of Peace stood near the Museum Wedding Hall which for some reason is part of the whole war memorial complex. The beginning of the Monument for Killed In Action. It consisted of several galleries with row after row of plaques commemorating those American and Korean soldiers who died in the conflict.

I managed to track down the plaque to my own home state of Wisconsin.
