KMK: Kimchi Bokkeum Bap and Kimchi Jjigae

Food Victuals

Next to work there is a little Korean restaurant run by two little old ladies who serve up delicious dishes. I’m usually there at least once a day during the work week, if not more. The above dish is Kimchi Bokkeum, Kimchi fried rice, and is served with a fried egg on top and with several side dishes and soup. Bibimbap is the dish I usually get. It’s a bowl filled with vegetables and a sunny side up egg. You mix the vegetables together with the bowl of steaming rice and you are ready for a great meal.

Sometimes I get the Kimchi jjigae, which is a hot stone pot with kimchi, tofu, and bits of pork and with a side dish of rice. It’s mouth watering and savory.

So far these have been my main dishes. When I branch out I’ll be back for a full report.
