KMK: Le Chien Blanc

Cafes Food

Le Chien Blanc, French for the white dog, is the latest spot to spring up in the trendy HBC neighborhood. When you approach the shop  the aroma of freshly baked bread envelops you in a warm hug, drawing you in. Stepping inside the cozy little bakery presents you with an array of baked deliciousness. On the left a series of shelves display the day’s offerings. The goodies range from almond croissants, baguettes, garlic bread drizzled with mozzarella, to homemade broccoli soup. You can find your pastries either sweet or savory. There’s something for everyone.

There’s a small space for customers to sit and nibble on a biscuit while sipping a steamy cup of tea or coffee. However, the bulk of the space serves as the baking area for baker 나기웅. He’s parlayed a talent for baking into his very own shop. His next addition to the growing menu will be a selection of sandwiches.

The arrival  of Le Chien Blanc couldn’t be more timely. The neighborhood has been a void of freshly baked goodies. Sure, there’s Baker’s Table across the road in Gyeongridan, but they focus more on their restaurant instead of their selection of hearty German breads. It’s refreshing to find a bakery strictly focusing on the business of baking.  So, for a flirty tempting pasty Le Chien Blanc is the place to go. Though go as early as you can because the goods are baked daily and they fly off the shelves piping hot.
