SKRT, otherwise known as skirt, is an new (ish) hot spot in Itaewon backed by the underground hipsters known as Fake Virgin. They specialize in presenting cutting edge artists such as Darkside, Bondax, Com Truise, Moonboots, Chvches, Tycho, Bonobo, FKA Twigs, and Grimes to Seoul’s thirsty audience. SKRT serves as a performance art space for exhibits, pop up stores as well as a danceaterium for club banging beats.
The next big event happens Saturday September 24th when the Mad Bambi crew brings their latest drag ball back to Seoul. Mad Bambi has hosted two other LGBT drag balls these past few months. The first, an after party for Seoul’s annual Pride Parade. The Second, an American Apparel themed extravaganza that topped the first with even more performances and surprises. This third time around the piece de resistance comes in the form of none other than the indomitable Kim Chi (from RuPaul’s Drag Race) who’ll be holding court as the mistress of the night.
Kim Chi’s sure to serve up a healthy dose of face along with her signature brand of bombastic, kooky, glamazon drag. Hopefully, she’ll be singing her single “Fat, Fem & Asian”!
