Macaroons! It’s not that I’m a big fan of macaroons, its just that I love the way the word rolls off the tongue like some pastry battle cry. In the traditional souvenir swamped streets of Itaewon just across the street from Anguk Station you’ll find all the macaroons and other pastry delights at Amandier.Macaroons!

The Belgian style patisserie welcomes all into a wonderland of sweet decadence. The glass storefront immediately invites passerby to ogle the bevy of baked goods on display. The man behind all of this, Chef Ruben Jan Adrian, hails from the Netherlands. He’s brought his experience gathered from working in first class hotels scattered throughout Europe and Asia to the city of Seoul a few years ago. Since then his pastry delights have tickled the tongue of many Seoulites.Ice Cream

To give you a glimpse of what to expect you’ll find upon entering the cafe tables laden with freshly baked croissants, tarts, cakes, muffins, pretzels, rolls, buns, cookies and things you might have never head of. A riot of specialty chocolates lay in wait for those with a sweet tooth for caramel, coffee, banana, coconut, szechuan chili, and raspberry just to name a few. On the chilly front an ice cream station offers Green Apple, Strawberry, beer, yogurt, vanilla, coffee, floral and pistachio.
