The Tacos Mexican Grill is the latest Mexican offering I’ve come across in Seoul. It’s located in Gangnam around the corner from Harlem and NB. I have to say it’s in a great location even with Dos Tacos not too far off and Taco Rico just a ways across the street.
It’s like a Mexican standoff!
Though when it comes to Mexican food in this standoff The Tacos will be hitting the dirt first. The chicken burrito I had tasted way too bland. It tasted more Tex Mex than Mexican. Burritos also come in several other varieties like chili cheese, refried bean, bacon and scrambled egg, country potato and bacon, supreme and a special your choice creation. All for under 10,000 KRW.
There’s more to the menu other than burritos, which considering my burrito is a good thing. there’s soft corn and flour tacos along with crispy shell corn tacos vegetarian, chicken, potato, pork, or beef style. You can choose between queadillas and taco salads along with shrimp soup with salsa and cream or salsa tomato soup or go with the chimichanga. The price ranges between 4,000 and 9,000 KRW.
Side items include Mexican rice, scrambled ieggs, sour cream, nacho cheese sauce, and red or black beans for under 1,500 KRW. They also serve up mojitos, margaritas and Jose Cuervo Gold along with Corona and Dos Equis.
The Tacos also boasts several specials. For 19,000 KRW you can get two tacos and four glasses of tequila. For 27,000 KRW you can have the two tacos and four bottles of beer. The quesadilla special includes four pieces of quesadilla and four glasses of tequila for 22,000 KRW.
The lunch set menu includes your choice of refried bean and meat burrito, bacon and scrambled egg burrito or the Taco’s original burrito along with a soft drink for under 7,000 KRW. A Taco rice set with soft drink can also be had for 6,500 KRW.
To be honest I don’t know if I’m going back. The menu is big and I know I only had a chicken burrito, but it didn’t exactly set my taste buds tingling with excitement.

Ah! Uncle 29 is back? Four or five years ago there was a bar called Uncle 29 close to the location you describe. I used to go there because the beer was reasonably priced and at the time it was one of the only places in Seoul to get fajitas that were worth eating without costing $30.
I think its the same place you\’re talking about though that place was before my time. Have you returned to Seoul?
