KMK: Burger Hunter

Food Restaurants

The aptly named Burger Hunter in Gangnam strives to appease the burger hungry masses. I have to say that I spotted this new place while I was on my way to Taco Rico with my friend Rebekah. We were both in the mood for some good Mexican food, but after spotting a new burger joint we couldn’t pass it up.

Come get some!

Inside Burger Hunter the fifties has been resurrected. Here you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into an old black and white movie. It has a diner like atmosphere with little music juke boxes on each table although they don’t work. The walls are covered in fifties nostalgia. I thought the staff would break out into a sock hop at any minute.

Still, we weren’t there for a sock hop. We came to get our grub on. Burger Hunter didn’t disappoint with the variety of choices. You could for for the origninal burger hunter, bacon cheese burger, BBQ Burger, shrimp burger, mushroom burger, chilly bean burger, philly steak burger, and crispy chicken burger.

Of course no place would be complete without a specialty burger and Burger Hunter gives you three. The Angry Burger, The Zeus, and the PB Jellyousy Burger. Burgers are between 6,500 and 11,000 KRW. There’s also a set option which includes soda and fries.

There’s also potato chip fries, chili cheese potatoes, cheese potatoes, and potato wedges.

As far as burgers go Burger Hunter does a decent job. My bacon cheeseburger and Rebekah’s BBQ burger both had thick solid patties, firm sesame buns, and fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I have to say though that it did get a bit messy. I’d rank Burger Hunter behind Burger B, Two Broz, and Smokey Saloon.

Oh we also had the chili fries which were heavenly.

The Good:

Need a decent burger in Gangnam? Look no further. Plus a wide variety of burger choices.

The Bad:

My bacon could have been crispier. I had a bit too much lettuce.

The Weird:

A peanut butter and jelly burger? Seriously! My stomach cringes at the thought.

Directions: Walk out exit 7 of Gangnam station. Go straight, make a left after the Coldstone Creamery, go up the hill and Burger Hunter will be on your left above Crazy Hook.

  1. Hi Brian!

First, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!! My wife and I were craving a burger, and we just about flipped when we found your post here. Ha! She had the bacon cheese burger (classic), and I had the PB&J burger. It was awesome!

I also wanted to update your directions. Burger Hunter is actually by the Nonhyeon stop, just outside of exit 8. It’s literally right there on the northeast corner of the intersection. I don’t know if it moved from closer to Gangnam or what, but we walked about 15 minutes in the wrong direction. No worries though. Made us EXTRA hungry for the burgers, and made them that much tastier.

    Thanks!

  2. I’m from Sedalia, MO, home of the Guber Burger (just PB). I tried the PB and Jealously last time and it was AMAZING!! If you’re ever feeling adventurous, I highly recommend it! 🙂

    1. Ah so you actually had a PB burger! I need video proof! Was it really delicious? I’m so skeptical but then again peanut butter and jelly is a hard to beat combo!
