If you haven’t heard the folks at 10 Magazine are throwing a big contest. Korea Awaits is open to all legal residents of South Korea. The aim is to create a video between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long. Direct from the site:
During the month of May, make your own 30-second to 2-minute video about Korea, and if you’re the lucky winner, you’ll win a trip for two to Tokyo, including round-trip air fare on Delta Airlines and two nights in an executive room at the Hilton Tokyo!
Awesome, right? At first I was eager to jump in, but then I thought of all the great videographers out there in Kimchi-land like the dynamic duo of Eat Your Kimchi, Busan Kevin, and those Kicking it in Geumchon guys so I figured I was out before I started. Weeks went by and suddenly after going through some old video on my laptop I thought why not?
That was Friday, three days before the deadline. I’m happy to say that I’m almost done and think I can make it in time.
Starting June 2nd to June 9th Online voting will be open to select the ten best videos. I’m here to shamelessly ask you, dear readers, to rock the vote in my direction!
On June 12th, after a panel of judges have selected the winners, there will be an award ceremony at Villa Sortino.
Prizes
4th – 10th Place – Two tickets to Nanta or Miso and W80,000 in dining certificates.
3rd Place – Two nights’ stay at Busan Lotte Hotel and W100,000 in dining certificates.
2nd Place – Two nights’ stay at the Millennium Hilton Seoul Hotel and a W100,000 in dining certificates.
Grand Prize – A Trip for Two to Tokyo
Two round trip tickets to Tokyo on Delta Air Lines and two nights’ stay in an Executive Room including breakfast at the Hilton Tokyo.
Excellent video! Since the voting process was ‘open’ I voted for you!
Thanks Pearls, I need all the help I can get! i’ve got a big hill to climb but there’s still time!
Thanks! I’m steering clear of the comments and dousing on drumming up support for my vid! Did you guys submit one?
No, we didn’t participate in this. Something came up. Maybe next time.

Good job on the video! Looks like the comments for the contest are getting kinda nasty, though.
