For all you shopaholics out there worried that the only place in South Korea tthat could cater to your shopping needs is Seoul let me tell you to fear no longer. Busan has a few tricks up its sleeve to entice and satisfy even the most die hard shopping despots in the world.
Once you hop off the KTX jump on the subway to NampoDong Station and you’ll find yourself on the starting blocks of an all access shopping bonanza. The main street is a meandering road sidled with western eateries, Korean restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, brand name clothing stores, shoes stores, movie theaters, and all manner of outdoor stalls ready and willing to sell you everything they have and even a few things they don’t.
Some of the stores even have designated lounge areas for weary guys out with their women on a mad shopping spree. Several such men sat in the window of a store in big comfy chairs either dozing, gabbing away with each other, or in the midst of a Nintendo DS crisis. No need to shop till you drop with places like this.
And if the need to shop does hit a low all you have to do is wander to the middle of all the madness where you’ll find a designated stage area. It just so happened we witnessed a Buddhist temple dancing drum session alongside a B-boy dance off.
