Halloween is just around the corner and I know now is the time for the mad costume scramble. Don’t fret if you’ve waited to the last minute to put together your outfit. You won’t have to cobble together old clothes, recycled objects, and random street crap to find that magic costume.
Instead head over to Nambu Bus Terminal on the Organge line. Take exit 1 and walk straight until you come to the Holly’s Coffee. At that point across the street you’ll see the LG Building. On the second floor you will find Costume Nirvanna. Practically the whole floor is full of costume shops.
I’m going back today to try and find something I can wear both to work and out and about on the town. Speaking of which, if you know of any clubs or bars or spots in town off the usual beaten path that may prove to be fun and exciting then let a brotha’ know!
I’ll take a few more pics today when I return. Till then don’t fear that you’ll have to go out in your ESL teacher costume. You still have time. You can even check out costume ideas on their website Kook Hyang.

Joyparty
Directions: Line 7 Gangnam Gu Office Station. Take exit 2 and keep going straight ahead. It’s on the corner below an English Academy. They have tons of ready made costumes as well as accessories.

I have been to all three stores. Here is the low down:
Kook Hyang has awesome stuff and a lot of it, but it can be pricey! Most of their stuff is to rent and it’s not cheap, though they do have a ton of stuff you can buy outright.
Joy Party is not one size fits all. A lot of their stuff won’t work for tall, broad shouldered, or big people. It’s also not as big as the other two stores. Still they have a great selection of mardi gras phantom of the opera type masks.
Halloween by sadang station is the place I would go. They have lots of stuff at reasonable prices. Reasonable being the key word. You can get a costume under thirty thousand won.
Good luck and see you out in the streets!
You might want to check out tv production companies and where they source their costumes. Even university theater companies may be able to help.
Looking for a South Korean rental house that supplies costumes for film and television. Much like Western Costume Company does in the US and Angels Costumes does in England. Trying to get South Korean police uniforms for an American Production?
