A couple weekends back I went out to Yeouido Park to check out the Cherry Blossom festival. The place was jam pack full of like minded people doing the very same thing. Shoulder to Shoulder I pushed, prodded, and squeezed through the throng of people to get my glimpse of the blooming blossoms. After awhile I decided to just go with the flow of the crowd instead of futilely fighting against it.
The path through the festival grounds contained an the extra surprise of an art exhibit. It was a great day to just walk near the river, relax and breathe in that fresh cherry blossom smell which oddly enough never smells like cherries.
Pavement picnics since the grassy areas down by the river were under reconstruction. Everyone was in such good spirits. It was the kind of day you wanted to have that special someone to walk with you hand in hand. I think my lothario ways may be coming to an end as I look for someone to smell the cherry blossoms with. Though I love my bachelor life so don’t quote me on that.
The art pieces ranged from the wonderfully weird to the sublimely confusing. All of them worked in flowers or plants in some fashion. It was really a good idea to include an exhibition that meshed with the theme of the festival. I hope you had a chance to get down there before it all ended! If you missed it fear not there’s always next year.

dokebi: its where they are doing the construction.
The placement of the cherry trees on the 6th pic doesn’t look natural… Is it a clearing of sand?
I still can't break the excuse me habit. Mom drummed it in too deep. heh
Nice pictures! All the cherry blossoms in my neighborhood have fallen on the ground. I see it's still hanging around in Seoul. Lucky you! :)My one and only time visiting Korea, I noticed when walking down a crowd street and you bump into people, no one said, "Excuse me." That was a bit annoying. But then, after awhile, I got used to it.Sunny
