KMK: Temple of Heaven

International Travel

Yup, it’s another update of my Beijing trip. I give a great big thanks to my friend Samarra for organizing my pictures so I could finally get them up on site. Today I’m bringing you the gorgeous Temple of Heaven otherwise known as the Altar of Heaven.

The Temple of Heaven is a series of buildings devoted to Taoism. It was a place where Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed for good harvests.

Here an old man shows off his Temple shake and shimmy. He was a hoot and a half especially considering he was closing in on 95. If I last that long I hope I can still shake a tail feather like that.

Even the Temple of Heaven is getting ready for the big Olympic games. The entire complex underwent a 5 million dollar renovation.

I have no idea who this is but her look was really working so I snapped a shot.

With these two pics it looks like Ryan is basking in the gaze of Samarra.

Look closely at the wee man trimming the lawns.
