KMK: Halloween Hoopla

Culture Lifestyle
On Wednesday it was October 31st, the time when the freaks come out during the day as well as the night. At work the teachers arrived in costume to treat the kids to our festive and frivolous tomfoolery. Finding a costume was a last minute weekend endeavor for me. Finding anything in my size proved to be an insurmountable task, so I opted for a mask and cape and used my own clothing for the rest of my Phantom of the Operacostume. I thought about telling the kids I was Count Chocola, but I doubt they would’ve known who that is.Not that Phantom of the Opera was going to come across any better as I was quickly informed my mask needed to be half the face length wise and should’ve been white. Oh well, live and learn.

Everyone else fared better than I did so let the costume roll call begin!

I think Simon came as the Burger King, but I’m not entirely sure.
Ravi came as a rap stereotype.
Dan debuted the Korean fotune teller outfit. He can probably make some extra money on the streets of Hongdae or Itaewon in that get up.
Bruce as Freddy Krueger.
Amanda did Miss Switch, remember that cartoon?
Sam scared the kids with the Scream psycho killer look.

Ryan brought Hogwarts to work with Harry Potter complete with broom action.

The day really went fast with all the costume parading and candy munching. Though, by the end of the day I was glad to be out of my costume as I tried to come down from a sugar high.
