KMK: Jackie’s Kitchen Mokdong

Food Restaurants

Well, if you haven’t heard then listen up because Jackie Chan has a place for you to chow down to your heart’s content. Yes, you heard me, I said Jackie Chan as in high-flying-kung-fu-kicking Jackie Chan. Who knew that he had a chain of modern Chinese restaurants floating around the world? I didn’t, but I do know.

So, in between kicking bad guy butt in his action movies, Jackie doubles as a knife wielding, pan frying Asian chef serving up all kinds of delicious meals for your taste buds.

The JK I went to is in Mokdong right next to the Hyundai Department store and near Megabox movie theater. The inside is done in somber tones with moody lighting to give the place a casual elegance. For dinner I had the sweet and sour pork which was one of the few dishes that wasn’t so pricey. Jackie needs to lower those prices!

The meal also came with sweet tea which did indeed hit the spot. The restaurant was moderately full of diners and the wait staff diligently attended to me promptly and always with a smile.& For an appetizer I had the Jackie Special dim sum. Tasty, and for only 3500 won you can’t beat that. My meal also came with the ever popular side dishes of carrots, radishes, pickles and cucumbers. Outside the place they had a display of various dishes to choose from just in case you needed a picture to get the drooling action started.

I can attest to the live seafood. The lobsters looked like they wanted to make a serious getaway, but they had no such luck. JK delivered a meal worth eating at a price just a wee bit not worth paying. It was good, but I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon.
