Gangnam Renovations

Google Buzz

Hey readers, I’m not sure if you know this or not but over in Gangnam there’s been what I call a rebeautifying effect going on the main drag. It’s happeing on both sides of the street near Gangnam station exit 6 and 7 all the way down to Kyobo Bookstore.

The sidewalks have gotten a much needed overhaul making them wider, smoother, and prettier. The buildings have all had their signage made into a sleek uniform look instead of the halfhazard circus sideshow effect that was charming in a country bumpkin sort of way. But the coup de grace of the entire overhaul happens to be the Interactive computer stations along the sidewalk.

At these stations you can bring up a map of the area if you’re lost. You can seacrch out bus routes, restaurants, movie reviews, you can even do email. The best part, however, is the street photography where you pose and the station takes your pic and even emails it after you decorate the picture with or without adding a note. Awesome!

You’ll see tons of people standing at these just taking pictures with their friends and acting silly. For the added bonus is that these stations also have cams installed to keep an eye on folk in casetrouble happens. Fun, safety and security all wrapped up in a hi tech package.
