KMK: Bin 361 in Hongdae

Food Restaurants

Editor’s Note: Bin 361 is Now Closed.

Last night I had dinner at Bin 361 in Hongdae. It’s a little bistro type restaurant near Hongik Park close to Stompers and Harlem. The chef and owner, KC, spent 30 years in Vancouver cooking and has returned with a great restaurant.

The place oozed atmosphere with warm colors and moody lighting that created a new jack swing supper club feel.

The music ran the gamut from lounge to jazz to laid back trip hop that suited the place perfectly. The menu consisted of pasta dishes like shrimp & spinach pesto, seared tuna, steaks of all cuts and variety and a Spanish rice dish called palle and that’s to name a few.

We started off we a carrot soup that made my mouth water.

Grilled lettuce followed the soup and that was absolutely delicious. I had never had lettuce grilled before and the flavors and crispness were definitely satisfying.

The main course was steak medium rare with mashed potatoes.

A blueberry sorbet with targon completed the meal on an even higher note.
Dinner for two, with wine, came to about 100, 000 won so be prepared.
It was worth it though.

UPDATE: This restaurant is now closed.
