The COEX Wine Buffet at the Intercontinental Coex Hotel executes a flawless victory night after night. Of course, it helps that the luxurious surroundings lend itself to an experience of debauchery and devilment. The lobby is simultaneously spacious airy and uncommonly intimate courtesy of the light show that drenches the high back love seats and plush chairs with a rainbow of subtle color. It made me feel enveloped in a warm embrace.
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with a bemused undercurrent of whimsy from all the tipsy smartly dressed chatterboxes clustered around the tables scattered about. It’s no wonder sense a nearly invisible team of servers keep the libations and eats replenished. There’s cheeses, crackers, olives, dips and sauces, a salad bar, crisps, chicken wings and tenders, potato wedges, satay, sausages, Merlot, chardonnay, Cabernet, sparkling wine, soju cocktails, beer, sangria and so much more it’s as if the servers were being directed by Dionysus himself. It’s a veritable cornucopia. I half expected to see the horn of plenty tucked into someone’s waistband.
Make reservations for large groups or for Friday or Saturday night, just to be on the safe side.
