KMK: LMFAO Live In Seoul

Arts Music

The Dynamic Duo of electro  pop breezed into Seoul earlier this month on a world wide tour to party rock the earth. Tied together through their musical colloboration as well as close family ties DJs Redfoo and Skyblu have been sending out good feeling party vibes since their album party rock rocketed them to stardom.

Born into the musical powerhouse Gordy family (of Motown fame) this unlikely uncle and nephew pairing tapped into the feel good zeitgeist of the era by crafting sounds with slamming beats, catchy hooks, and an outrageous sense of tongue and cheek humor and colorful visual antics. They appeal to the baser instincts of fun, tomfoolery, and sexy good times.

The pair descended on Seoul but only DJ Redfoo appeared on stage, explaining that his newphew suffered from whatever that prevented him from appearing. The audience seemed nonplussed, cause really the party comes with Redfoo and his army of backup dancers. The newphew wasn’t missed at all. And speaking of the dancers they bounced, flipped, gyrated and strutted across the stage in various states of dress much to everyone’s enthusiasm.

Once they added in gushing bottles of champagne, a huge inflatable zebra, a blizzard of confetti and a thong wearing Hokuto “Hok” Konishi (America’s Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance). I for one couldn’t have been happier.

If you don’t know the Hawk I’m talking about let me help you:

Redfoo made sure every hit single boomed from the stage to the rafters blasting out Party Rock Anthem, Sexy and I know it, Shots,  Sorry for Party Rocking, Champagne Showers, Yes, One Day, I’m in Miami Bitch and a ton of others.

My only gripe was the poor security management for ticket holders and the lack of alcohol drinks at a party concert. Really, Olympic Stadium, really? I’m looking forward to world dj festival and a wall of sound that knocks my socks off.
