These Are The Best Places To Take Pictures In Seoul

As borders have started to reopen amidst the ongoing health crisis, Seoul has also stepped up its tourism efforts in a bid to attract more visitors from all over the globe. Earlier this month, the city launched its 2020 global marketing campaign with a series of videos starring the members of BTS, in hopes that the massive star power of the K-pop group will draw attention from people who are longing to travel again. It’s expected that more international tourists will be heading to the city soon as Seoul is the center of the Hallyu wave, and it’s where you can find amazing cuisine, a unique shopping experience, and ancient structures that depict life during the Joseon area. It also features wonderful places where you can take gorgeous photos that you’ll want to share on all of your social media accounts. If you’re planning to take a trip to Seoul this year, here are the best places to take pictures in the second largest city in the world.

Bukchon Hanok Village

Seoul is a dream destination for photographers as the mix of modern and traditional buildings, as well as its vibrant culture, makes it the ideal place for taking dynamic pictures. You’re sure to end up with dozens of great photos that’ll look great on your mantle, but whether you’re using a digital camera or an analogue device, always remember to practice sustainable photography and only print out the ones that you want to display. Other photos should be saved in a hard drive or if you want to share them, upload them on your social media accounts so your family and friends can also enjoy your adventures in Seoul.

To make your Instagram feed more interesting, make sure to take photos while you’re at the  Bukchon Hanok Village. In the olden days, members of the royal family lived in the area, and here you’ll see several hanoks or traditional Korean houses that have been transformed into coffee and tea shops. Don’t forget to rent a traditional Korean suit (hanbok) and wear it while taking selfies!

Ihwa Mural Village

If you’re a fan of K-dramas, then visit Ihwa Mural Village. It’s where some of the most popular dramas, such as “Encounter” and “Goblin” were filmed, so you can channel Song Hye Kyo or Park Bo Gum while taking pictures alongside the fabulous murals in the area, as well as in the cozy coffee shops throughout the village. You’ll be walking on steep streets and climbing a lot of stairs, so pace yourself and remember to wear comfy shoes. Also, plan on leaving the bulky camera equipment behind and consider taking photos with your smartphone while you take a walking tour in the area.

Starfield Library

Right in the popular district of Gangnam is the Starfield Library, which can be found inside the COEX mall. It’s a public open space where anybody can sit down and relax while reading a book, but it’s also known as a famous Instagram destination among young Seoul locals. Take a picture of the 13-meter tall display of books while you’re here, and take a moment to relax while sitting on the plush sofas while leafing through a magazine or book.

A visit to Seoul means having an Instagrammable holiday. Visit these places while you’re in the city, and take lots of photos to capture all the amazing sights and memories of Seoul.
