Breakfast at LaVert

KMK: Le Vert

Food Restaurants

Editor’s Note Le Very has turned into Bomb Burger

Have you heard of Le Vert? Take your time and really think about it. No, not the nineties R&B crooners who gave us such hits as Casanova and Addicted to You. Don’t worry. I made the same mistake when walking into  the same titled restaurant in Haebangchon. You can imagine my disappointment when I walked in couldn’t find any Gerald LaVert Posters plastered on the walls or shiny replicas of of Grammy statues.

The atmosphere inside couldn’t be further from urban America. My yearning for nineties nostalgia quickly dissipitated replaced by a fondness for old world France. Le Vert the restaurant has an old country cottage charm. It’s bright green walls, forest greenery, and wooden tables are far from urban. Theres also an open terrace if dining outside is more to your liking.

The menu has all  sandwiches include smoked turkey, smoked salmon, big beef fillet, club, and the Le Vert special of grilled chicken and roasted chili peppers. Salads include chicken, smoked salmon, the killer garden salad, and the Hail Caesar. The pasta dishes span chicken pesto, spaghetti bolognaise, carbonara, chili pasta, and mushroom cream. Tomato chili, chicken or pepperoni pizza are also on hand.

Brunch specials include the classic American breakfast with eggs any style, hash browns, bacon, sausage, toast and jam, and coffee. Le Vert Benedict comes with mushrooms, bacon, sausage links, and  hash browns. Then there’s French toast and the Le Vert Waffle which are made from scratch.

I had no complaints about the American breakfast. I ordered my eggs the usual over easy. I could’ve done with more bacon and less sausage. Next time I’ll request that if I don’t go for something a bit more adventurous.

Prices at Le Vert are under 15,000 KRW.
