KMK: Rain Influential? No Duh!

Welcome, amigos to the K Pop Korner, my little nook of Kiss My Kimchi devoted exclusively to all things K Pop. There’s been a serious lack of K pop love, snark, and affection considering this is a Korea blog and so I’ve been given the go ahead to add my 500 won to the goings on happening in the K Pop World. So loosen those seat belts and get ready to be K Poppified.

So lets set it off with something that’s been on my my mind lately. In the media there’s an item about ice skating princess and the K-pop boy on a stick deliciousness that is Rain being named as two of two hundred candidates for the top 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.

Though he’s been on the list every year since 2006 the article says that my boyfriend Rain only made the list once in 2006, boo to Time Magazine, but he has topped the online polls most notably when Stephen Colbert tried to get all stank about it on his Cable show.

Rain, you don’t need this Poll! What has Time Magazine done for you lately? Nothing. You’re better off focusing on the tween rag mags and k-pop netizens who love you enough to see Ninja Assassin twice. Yes, I said twice. I’ll also buy the DVD just so I can play a drinking game I created. See, all you do is take a shot every time you see Rain’s abs. It’s awesome. Plus you have to drink something frothy or fruity. I went with Bailey’s but it’s really up to you.

Oh, yeah Kim Yu-na is also on the poll, but really its hard to focus on her when she’s next to Rain. Plus, until she puts out a single, an album or a movie she’s not high on my radar during non Olympic months. Cute look for her though.
