KMK: Ski Trip Hyundai Sungwoo

Lifestyle Sports
Over the christmas weekend my friends and I decided to change things up this year and take a Ski Trip Hyundai Sungwoo. Instead of celebrating at home we gathered up the troops, rented a SUV and hit the road. Our destination of choice was Hyundai Sungwoo.
Things started out dicey. In Korea when you get your license you have to decided what type of vehicle you will be qualified to drive. It goes along the lines of six seater, eight seats or nine plus or something like that. In any case our intended driver didn’t have the proper license, but another of our friends did, but they didn’t have the right insurance. So we just prayed to the great highway god that nothing would happen and got the bigger one.

It was a good choice because we were packed nine deep and barely had enough room for luggage. We left Seoul at around noon. The mood for the trip was immediately set when someone broke out the laptop to discuss the merits of lesbian anal porn and if its truly enjoyed by lesbians or just straight men. The most fun of that was watching the looks of passing cars as the zoomed by us or tried to match our speed to view the show.

After that novelty wore off standard travelling games were in order. The resort, ideally, is supposed to take an hour and a half, but it took us nearly till five to get there. We did stop for lunch, but still, traffic in Korea during Holiday Seasons is out of control.

We didn’t end up staying at the actual ski resort. The rooms were already booked so instead we took up residence in a nearby pension. I’m glad we did. It was out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the main hotel and it was quaint. Twenty odd houses of all various sizes and shapes make up the place. You can choose between a little cottage or a two story mega house complete with pool. Ours turned out to be the perfect size for our group. The living room had to be used as a bedroom but we all fit quite snugly. The first night we ended up drinking until the wee hours and dining on homemade galbi.

In the morning we hit the slopes. We’ll three  us hit the slopes like they knew what they were doing while the rest of us just muddled by trying not to fall. I had the misfortune of deciding to go with a snowboard instead of skis. Let me tell you that snowboarding is tough! It took me ten minutes to even stand up, of course I fell down repeatedly after that.

As I haphazardly tried to make my way down the slope and continued to end up on my butt the majority of the time. It was highly embarrassing watching eight year old kids zip by me but eventually I made it down in just under the hour. The thought of another trip back up and tortuously slow ride back down was too much for my poor backside to handle.
