We didn’t end up staying at the actual ski resort. The rooms were already booked so instead we took up residence in a nearby pension. I’m glad we did. It was out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the main hotel and it was quaint. Twenty odd houses of all various sizes and shapes make up the place. You can choose between a little cottage or a two story mega house complete with pool. Ours turned out to be the perfect size for our group. The living room had to be used as a bedroom but we all fit quite snugly. The first night we ended up drinking until the wee hours and dining on homemade galbi.
In the morning we hit the slopes. We’ll three us hit the slopes like they knew what they were doing while the rest of us just muddled by trying not to fall. I had the misfortune of deciding to go with a snowboard instead of skis. Let me tell you that snowboarding is tough! It took me ten minutes to even stand up, of course I fell down repeatedly after that.
As I haphazardly tried to make my way down the slope and continued to end up on my butt the majority of the time. It was highly embarrassing watching eight year old kids zip by me but eventually I made it down in just under the hour. The thought of another trip back up and tortuously slow ride back down was too much for my poor backside to handle.
My friends fared about the same. The rest of the trip included running around the hotel exploring all the facilities. We camped out at noraebang and the bowling lanes. There was also a pool room, darts, a pc bang as well as restaurants and bars.
