I just checked my email and learned that once again I have been one of the lucky winners of the Korea Tourism Organization and the Voluntary Agency of Korea network bloggers contest! I’m really happy, even though I still haven’t seen that MP3 player I supposedly won, but I’m not throwing stones.
Like my momma says, it’s the thought that counts, but in this case I really want an actual prize and not just the idea/thought of a prize. So, please some follow through would be greatly appreciated!
From a quick perusal of blog sites I see that Foreigner/Joy has won as well, Congrats! Everyone else may not have checked their email yet so I am expecting more to the list as well.
The folks sponsoring the trip have this to say:
You’ll be the guest of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and The Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK) as you travel to Jeongseon and Yeongwol in Gangwon-do Province to enjoy the wonders of the natural landscape, including some hidden scenic jewels. You will also venture to Yeongju and Andong in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province where you’ll learn about Confucian traditions and visit ancient temples.
We hope the trip will give you an even greater understanding of Korea’s history and culture, and that you will communicate this knowledge about Korea’s beauty and attractions to other global netizens through your blog.
Neat! Though a snag does arise in that I should be working during those hours. I will have to make a desperate plea to my school to allow me to do this. Hopefully they will and it will all be hunky dory. Fingers crossed!
Chris,
Congrats to you too! I am sincerely doubting that I will get this time off. Which sucks. I still haven’t gotten that MP3 player. Maybe some high government head honcho will take pity on the poor English Teaching K-bloggers and send down word to grease the wheels so we can attend. Doubt it, but you never know.
The deadline seemed off to me too. Its almost as if they didn’t want anyone to claim that prize!
Hey Brian,
Congrats – I was declared a winner as well 🙂 No chance at getting the time off, especially since I’m actually on vacation right now… We’ll see what happens…
Oh, and did you see the part about the deadline to respond by? From the time the e-mail was sent to the time of the deadline appeared to be a matters of hours… Weird…
