Now that’s a sentiment I can get behind. I love my coffee, but sometimes a fella has to switch things up to keep things fresh. So lately I have been saying farewell to my Kenyan brewed Starbucks and hello to my Darjeeling black tea from Tea Purple. In Seoul, Tea Purple is to tea what Starbucks is to coffee. There are Tea Purples everywhere and I say the more the merrier.
The Tea Purple menu offers a wide variety of tea to choose from. Whether you’re a fan of green teas, black teas, oolong or special herb blends (not that kind of herb) there are dozens of options. If you want something a bit more daring and exotic you can even go for blends like citron berry, ginger soda, or ginseng berry.
The Tea Purple menu also includes sandwiches. The variety ranges from the pumpkin purple sandwich to the smoked salmon or oriental chicken on focaccia. No matter which you choose you can be sure that each will be handmade right there on the spot. There also a selection of cakes, cookies, and pies.
And don’t fret if you absolutely must have your coffee, because Tea Purple even boasts a limited coffee bar just for those who can’t survive without their java.
The Tea Purple near my apartment is located between Mokdong and Omokgyo stations. The place is always packed and if I can find a spot I enjoy just working on my notebook while sipping a new blend. The menu is so extensive that it will take me quite awhile to work through all the teas. So, if you’re in the area I highly suggest popping in or just finding the closest Tea Purple near you.
Thank you so much! I am moving to Seoul (Dobong-gu) in about a month and I have been freaking out about where to find black tea. I knew that geen tea would be plentiful, but I need a black tea to wake up. I'm off to the Tea Purple website. Thanks again!
