KMK: Agio

Food Restaurants

My friend Nicole and I went out to Insadong last weekend. We did some souvenir shopping and decided to grab a bite to eat at Agio, an Italian restaurant with locations both in Insadong and Hongdae.

As you can see from the menu, Agio offers up a selection of pastas, salads, and pizzas from a wood oven stove. There is enough variety to the menu to appease even the most finicky of customers.

Nicole’s expression says it all. Agio’s ivy covered red brick entrance combined with the rustic interior highlighted by hardwood floors and a ceiling complete with wooden beams gives you the feeling that you’re dining in a far off cabin in the hills.

I chose the brown bag baked chicken pasta and Nicole had the mushroom pasta. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The pasta had a distinctive yet subtle flavoring that made each bite a delight. The mushrooms were meaty and satisfying with a texture that mimicked beef. The garlic was perfect and didn’t overwhelm the dish at all.
Prices ranged from around 10,000 won to 25,000 won. Overall, not a bad price for the quality of the food. There is also a selection of wines and beer to accompany your meal as well as teas, coffees, or soft drinks.
I recommend Agio if you want to switch things up and in the mood for Italian.
