KMK: Bye Bye 2007

KmKorner Opinion

Well, the year is slowly coming to a close and I think now is a perfect time to reflect on 2007. I picked up these questions from my friend Samarra’s blog. Here we go!

My 2007
The year is ending! So answer the following about your year:

1) Where did you begin 2007?
Milwaukee, Wisconsin!

2) What was your status by Valentine’s Day?
I was in a relationship, but I knew it was coming to an end.

3) How did you earn your money?
Teaching

4) Did you have to go to the hospital?
Yup, I went for malaria pills which in turn had me back in the hospital since I had a bad reaction to them.

5) Did you have any encounters with the police?
None

6) Where did you go on vacations?
China, Cambodia, and I guess Korea counts as a year long working vacation? Nah.

7) What did you purchase that was over $1000?
My beautiful new Dell Laptop which I still haven’t named. Any suggestions?

8) Did you know anybody who got married?
No, oh wait do movie characters count? No? Yeah, then I guess it’s a no.

9) Did you know anybody who passed away?
Thank goodness, no, but I know plenty of people who passed out from alcohol. Holler!

10) Did you move anywhere?
Yes, I moved to Korea! Duh!

11) What concerts/shows did you go to?
I saw BBoy Korea, The Beijing acrobats, Jazz at Club Evan’s and Once in a Blue Moon, the Seoul DJ festival, a suwon Martial arts performance, the drunken antics of my expat friends in Itaewon which is a show no one should miss and the drama of this Korean guy I dated which was something I should have passed on.

12) Are you registered to vote?
Yes, but the primaries are in 2008!

13) Who did you want to win Big Brother?
Didn’t watch it but considering it’s reality tv I hope the Stereotypical gay guy, the angry black guy, or the sassy black chick won.

14) Where do you live now?S
eoul, KR

15) Describe your birthday?
My birthday shatters all preconceived notions of what birthdays should be about: my birthday mourns the passing of another year so lets all break out the black clothes and Morrisey CDs.

16) What’s one thing you thought you wouldn’t do but did in 2007?
Go to Cambodia. Seriously, that country was so far off my radar not even Angelina Jolie‘s adoption habit kept it in my thoughts.

17) What has been your favorite moment?
Seeing the majesty of Angkor Watt.

18) What’s something you learned about yourself?
I am innately selfish and have to work at not being so self centered.

19) Any new additions to your family?
In 2007? Not that I know of, but I might be out of the loop.

20) What was your best month?
The month I went to Cambodia! Which month was that? July? Yeah, July, maybe.

21) What music will you remember 2007 by?
Sadly it will be that terrible Tell Me song by that horrendous Korean Kpop girl group the Wonder Girls. Shoot me know.

22) Made new friends?
Yes, I’ve met some great people in Seoul and I hope we stay in touch!

23) Best “new friend”?
I don’t have a best friend. Maybe I need a dog or something.

24) Best new hotspot?
Oi in Hongdae!

25) Best movie you saw this year?
Beowulf!

26) Favorite gift of the year?
The Sticky Fingers cookies I got from a student. Those cookies rock!

27) Favorite Night out?
Any night I got home before the sun came up.
