KMK: Silent DJ Photo Essay

Arts Music

Every month the folks at the World DJ Festival have cooked up an exciting fun filled time in Hongdae. The plan is simple. A dj, a few hundred headsets, and the equipment to stream the music live into each and every head that shows up.

The following photos come from the shindig they threw down on March 19th. Both Koreans and Foreigners came to together for some mad music shenanigans and merriment. Take a look and be sure to check out the next one coming up in April. Then the next big thing is the actual festival in May. Keep an eye on Rip City Seoul’s site for more information!

  1. Looks like everyone was having a fun time! That’s a cool idea with the headsets. Very true Brian…it does depend on the person. Some people seem to be naturally born with rhythm, some rehearse until they get it, and then there are the others who just have to accept the fact that they’re rhythm challenged just like a person whose tone-deaf when it comes to carrying a tune. Just can’t get it!

    1. Depends on the person totally. Like I know this half japanese, half korean guy who has moves but its like watching that Showgirls movie….
