Oakton is seeking an Assistant Literacy Program Manager for the Skokie, IL campus to assist the Manager of Volunteer and Literacy Program in coordinating the educational activities of the program.  Some responsibilities of this position include:


 



  • Assist program manager in collecting required data and preparing reports, in compliance with Secretary of State, Illinois Community College Board, College, and Program requirements.

  • Monitor and assist instructors in preparing and submitting required forms and paperwork, including registration, attendance, midterm, and final grade sheets.

  • Assist with the development, selection, and updating of relevant curriculum.

  • Assist in ordering instructional materials for Literacy and Family Literacy sites.

  • Provide support with the recruitment, retention and testing of Literacy and Family Literacy students.

  • Assist Program Manager in developing and administering training opportunities for instructors and volunteer tutors.

  • Participate in advisory groups, meetings, conferences, workshops, etc., as required.

  • Support in transitioning and referring students to appropriate classes and programs.


 






Qualified candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Reading, Adult Education, Linguistics, ESL, or a related field and three years of Adult Education teaching experience.




This is a part time position that works Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.  Evening and weekend hours will be occasionally required to meet program needs.




This position is compensated at a rate of $22.10 per hour
