KMK: Wolfhound

Bars Nightlife

St. Patrick’s Day may have come and gone but that doesn’t mean you can’t kick back and enjoy a Guinness at a good old fashioned Irish pub. Every day of the year you can have a little bit of down home Irish hospitality at The Wolfhound in Itaewon.

Inside there’s a no frills attitude. It only takes a few moments for a beer to appear in your hand. The staff is fast, friendly and thankfully English speaking. Downstairs the atmosphere is all dark wood and somber with serious drinking definitely in the air. There are few card and board games as well. Upstairs offers a different experience. It’s brighter, livelier, and the mood is definitely upbeat. Groups of friends stake out corners, drinking till the wee hours. Couples stop in to grab a bite to eat. The Wolfhound packs the people in so hopefully you’ll snag a spot.

Once you’ve got your table then it’s time to order. The menu is jam packed with all kinds goodies. The burgers are the bomb, but so are the fish and chips (2 for 1 every Tuesday) Shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, and the toad in the hole. The menu covers all the bases including sandwiches, soups and salads, and brunch on Sundays. The prices range from 5,000 to 22, 000Won. You won’t break the bank for a nice meal out.

Wolfhound also keeps things lively with entertainment. Sunday nights there’s a long running trivia game going on. Holidays mean costumes, drinking games, prizes, and of course specialty food and drinks. Sometimes live bands come in to rock the crowd. Keep your eyes peeled on their website and facebook page for details.

You can find The Wolfhound near the Itaewon Subway Station.  From the station walk down the street ACROSS from the Hamilton Hotel and go down the first alley on your right.  We are about 20 meters down on the right on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

Or call 02-749-7971.
