KMK: Expat & Korean Blogger Brunch Talk

KmKorner Opinion

Expat & Korean Blogger Brunch Talk. January has been the month for K-blogging. Earlier in the month thee was the Seoul Eats meet up which tag teamed with the 2S2 crew for a combined event. They went out to grab some mandu-guk to celebrate the new year and then hit a nearby cafe for a book exchange. The rousing success of that match up probably means more combined events in the future.

Then, later on in the month, there was the TNM Blogger Awards held at the Korea Press Foundation building. Sadly I missed the event but I heard through the grapevine that it went off spectacularly. Bringing together both Korean and Expat bloggers to network and brainstorm is a great idea and with that in mind I joined in on a recent meet up in Hongdae. It was a laid back meet and greet aimed at getting together bloggers who share similar interests to bounce ideas off each other and get to know one another. Nothing accomplishes that better than a good meal and the food at Burger B is exactly that.

I already knew some of the attendees. Michael from Feet man Seoul, Joe from Chatjip, and Amanda from Life in a Suitcase were all in attendance. I also met a few new unfamiliar expat faces as well as the Korean Blogger contingency with folks like Jung Ho Park from Oh My News, and Yun Yongsuk from Happy Cooking Index. The entire episode was a great experience and I’m hoping that the next one will be just as great.
