Bucheon Botanical Gardens

My adventures in Bucheon continued with the botanical gardens. The last time I went to a botanical was my Thanksgiving trip back home last year. My brother and I went to the Three Domes, a pit stop for every school kid in Milwaukee. Hoping to rekindle some of that childhood magic, Kalli and I stormed the Bucheon botanical gardens with high hopes.
The facilities are small, but they pack as much as they can in the three arboretums. The first is devoted to forest plants and trees, the second delves into the desert plant life and the final one is features forest flora again. Curiously all three are basically connected seamlessly which, one would think, makes it odd for temperature control for the different plant species.

One weird side note about the garden was the array of mini dolls arranged around one of the trees in the lobby. I was hoping it was some kind of fetishistic pagan ritual to some remote Korean goddess I’ve never heard of.

We literally walked through the whole place in under ten minutes. There’s also a mini museum and educational center on the premises. Outside they have a huge garden with exotic and indigenous birds. A mini zoo rounds out the sights. Along with rabbits they have monkeys, goats, and deer. I think the animals were more exciting than the botanical garden. There’s also an insect museum, but we didn’t check that out. At least I presume it’s an insect museum because of the giant ladybug on the side of the building which only reminded me of how all the peaceful red and black lady bugs back home have been wiped out by a vicious biting orangish one that got accidentally released.

Take a loved one and go check out the gardens. Bring some goodies for the animals, though that may not be permissable, so you didn’t hear that from me, but if you make it healthy then I’m sure its okay, right? Bring apples. Everything loves apples.

Yeah, that plant rocked too bad it was plastic. In the great plant vs robot battle the plants defnitely won this round.

It looks more promising than the broken robot museum too.
