KMK: Blog Korea, I am a Winner!

kmk3a
The other day I had a surprise waiting for me in my in box. No, it wasn’t a virus thank the internet gods. I won something! Now to the vast majority of youthis may not seem like a big deal, but trust me, it is. I never win anything.

My luck totally sucks when it comes to contests, games or anything that involves a chance of me winning. When I play asshole guess who is constantly shuffling and dealing? When I go to the casino the slot machines do the happy dance. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when I discovered I was one of the 100 winners of the Blog Korea contest. I won a MP3 player for being one of the top seventy k blogs.

The contest is being run by VANK (the voluntary agency network of Korea) and the Korean Tourism Organization. Apparently 1000 bloggers around the world registered for the competition and they winnowed down the entries to the top 100 with 65 English blogs, 14 Chinese blogs, 7 Japanese blogs, 5 Spanish blogs, 4 Russian blogs, 3 French blogs, and two blogs from Germany all of which blog about Korea.

The other winners I recognize Roboseyo, Foreign/er, Chris in South Korea, and Seoul Eats Those are just a few of the emails that jumped out at me.

The good news keeps coming because the contest doesn’t stop here. The next phase is set to jump off this month and involves some sort of trip in Korea as a prize. Fantastic! All I have to do is keep on blogging which I do anyway.
A big ups to everyone who won, but now it’s time to buckle down, limber up the fingers and do some serious blogging!
